About Us

After more than 31 years of service with AT&T-Texas, concluding as Director of External Affairs and spokesperson for the company, Beverly Silas retired and that was only the beginning. She has served as the interim program director for Leadership Texas (a case of giving back, since she had participated in the program as a student a few years earlier), and as the founding CEO for Envision Central Texas, a non-profit organization focused on addressing growth for the five counties surrounding Austin. Later, Silas became director of communications and public strategies with HBMG, Inc. which led to her position as president and chief executive officer with Concept Development & Planning LLC. Utilizing all of the skills developed throughout her career, she is now president of Beverly Silas & Associates, a privately-owned public affairs/public involvement firm, founded in 2007, and headquartered in Austin, TX.

Silas’ commitment to the greater Austin community is evidenced by current service to: Capital Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Cap Metro) board of directors; American Public Transportation Association (APTA) board of directors; AISD Public Education Foundation board of directors; Texas Methodist Foundation board of directors; City of Austin Bond Oversight Committee. Previous service includes: Austin Community College board of trustees; Austin Community Foundation board of governors; Austin Area Urban League board of directors; Downtown Austin Alliance board of directors; Mary Lee Foundation board of directors; Austin Junior Forum advisory board; and to continue would be longer than War and Peace.

Beverly Silas & Associates was recognized by the Conference of Minority Transportation Officials (COMTO) as the 2011 Woman-Owned Business of the Year. In addition, Beverly was honored as the 2010 Women’s Transportation Seminar (WTS) Heart of Texas Chapter Woman of the Year, and is the recipient of the 2002 Award of Merit from the National Women of Achievement.
